What to do in the area
A little bit about Warmenhuizen:
It is in an agricultural region (cabbage, potato, milk and greenhouse flowers).
Like most of Holland, it is flat. We highly recommend a bike tour.
It is a village of about 6 thousand habitants with a lot of charm and dream houses.
Most of the citizens speak English.
It is about an hour from Amsterdam.
What to do in Warmenhuizen and its surroundings:
Warmenhuizen, take a nice walk through the center.
The dunes. Holland is below sea level. So they need the dunes and dikes to prevent flooding in times of high waves (Schoorlse Duinen). It is very interesting to see. The beaches are fine sand and you have to walk a long way to cover the water.
You can see Alkmaar, a nearby town. There, they are known for cheese. So we recommend going to the cheese market because they are delicious.
If you go a bit further, you can rent a bike or a car and take a ride along the West Frisian dike.
To name a few more tourist places, you can visit Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans, Volendam/Marken.
